Scott Wood

Scott Wood, 19, from Erskine plays Highland, Bellow Pipes, Whistles and Flute. He was taught by Gordon McCready of Renfrew, and now is currently studying on the BA Scottish Music Degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where he receives pipe tuition from Finlay MacDonald, Stuart Samson, and Allan MacDonald, and whistle tuition from Marc Duff.
Scott fronts his own band called ‘The Scott Wood Trio’ (, who he has recorded with and performs with regularly with at many folk festivals around Scotland. In January 2013, Scott was a finalist in the BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year competition.
Scott is currently a member of the Red Hot Chilli Pipers has also played with the Skerryvore on numerous occasions. Scott started off his pipe band career with Johnstone Pipe Band and now plays with Strathclyde Police Pipe Band.
He is also Pipe Sergeant of the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland Senior Band and was also Pipe Major of their Development Band. Scott has a large amount of teaching experience and has taught pipes and whistles all around Scotland and Europe.
